| Glass Reinforced Polyester Products or GRP are used generally in Roofing as a substitute for metal based products to provide a cost effective and durable alternative. The most common GRP product is the GRP Valley. There are specific GRP Valley's for Slating as well as for Tiling. These GRP Valley's provide a sanded mortar bonding strip to enhance the mortar adhesion onto the GRP itself. More recently Dry Fix GRP Valley's have become available for use without any mortar at all. These Dry Fix GRP Valley's are available in three separate profiles one for Slating, Plain Tiles and large format Interlocking Tiles. Other products include GRP Bonding Gutters and GRP Secret Gutters. GRP Bonding Gutters provide an unseen waterproof junction between different roof coverings, for example a semi-detached house where one half is Slated and one half is Tiled. GRP Secret Gutters, so called because they too are unseen once the roof is completed, provide a weather proof junction where a roof meets a vertical abutment. Other GRP Products include soakers that have traditionally been made from Lead, Zinc or Aluminium. |
